CRO · Speed

Shopify speed optimization.

Speed work ranked by revenue, not by a PageSpeed score. We fix what slows the templates that carry your orders, then prove the change against conversion rate and revenue per visitor.

Every template is ranked by sessions times revenue, so the first fixes land where they move the most money, not where the lab score looks worst.

What’s included

Audit, fix and prove ranked by revenue.

A slow page only costs money if the shoppers on it were about to buy. We find those pages, fix what slows them, and check that revenue agrees.

01 · Audit

Find where speed costs orders.

A revenue-weighted performance audit of the templates where purchase intent is highest.

  • Templates ranked by sessions times revenue
  • LCP and INP on product, collection and cart pages
  • Mobile vs desktop conversion on the same templates
  • A review of the whole app stack
  • A short, ordered list of fixes
02 · Fix

Cut the weight.

Image, font, theme code and app fixes, starting with the one we would ship first.

  • Images in WebP and AVIF, sized to each screen
  • Fewer font weights, critical ones preloaded
  • Unused CSS and JavaScript removed
  • Third-party scripts loaded after the page is usable
  • Redundant apps removed or rebuilt in the theme
03 · Prove

Faster, and revenue agrees.

Every change measured against conversion rate and revenue per visitor instead of assuming it helped.

  • A/B tests where traffic allows
  • Revenue per visitor as a guardrail
  • Baseline comparison where it doesn't
  • Core Web Vitals from real-user data
  • Device and browser QA before release

What you get

Four things you can act on.

Short and specific: what is slow, what it costs, what we changed and what it was worth.

  1. Performance audit

What is slow, how many sessions and how much revenue run through it, and the fix we would ship first.

Ordered list · Yours to keep
  2. App stack review

Apps that overlap, sit unused or left code behind, and the features better run as native Shopify or theme code.

    One-off · Per store
  3. Shipped fixes

Image, font, theme code and script changes, checked on major devices and browsers before release.

    Built into your theme
  4. Before-and-after report

Core Web Vitals next to conversion rate and revenue per visitor on the pages we changed.

    Per release

How it works

From slow template to proven fix.

We start with the audit so the first fix lands where it moves the most money.

  1. FirstAuditEvery template ranked by sessions times revenue, with LCP and INP checked where shoppers buy.
  2. Alongside the auditApp stackRedundant apps removed cleanly, and app-heavy features rebuilt as native Shopify or theme code.
  3. In revenue orderFixImages, fonts, theme code and third-party scripts, starting with the fix we would ship first.
  4. Every releaseProveShipped as a test or a staged rollout, then reported against conversion rate and revenue per visitor.

Who it’s for

A fit for some brands. Honest about the rest.

Best-fit signals

  • Slow product, collection or cart pages
  • Mobile converting well below desktop
  • An app stack that has grown for years
  • Apps uninstalled, code left behind
  • A good PageSpeed score, no revenue gain
  • Want speed changes proven against revenue

Not a fit

  • Only chasing a PageSpeed score
  • Under 500 orders a month and need every fix A/B tested
  • No development access to the store
  • Magento / Adobe Commerce

Below roughly 500 orders a month (about 50,000 sessions at a 1% conversion rate), a testing program produces inconclusive results. Brands under that floor get research-led fixes and implementation instead, or an honest referral.

FAQ

Before you speed up your store.

Didn't see your question? Email us at 100xretention@gmail.com

Will a faster store increase my conversion rate?

Often, but not always. Speed matters most on the templates where shoppers are about to buy, so we rank the work by revenue and measure each change against conversion rate and revenue per visitor instead of assuming it helped.

Do we need to rebuild our theme?

Usually not. We start with what is loading on the templates that carry revenue: apps, third-party scripts, images, fonts and theme code. A rebuild is only worth it when those fixes run out.

Which metrics do you report?

Core Web Vitals (Largest Contentful Paint, Interaction to Next Paint and Cumulative Layout Shift) from real-user data where it is available, next to conversion rate and revenue per visitor on the pages we changed.

Will speed work break anything?

Every change is checked on major devices and browsers before release, and shipped as a test or a staged rollout where traffic allows, so a problem shows up before it reaches every shopper.

What if we don't have enough traffic to test?

Below about 500 orders a month, we compare the changed templates against a baseline period instead, and report Core Web Vitals and conversion rate side by side.

Will you remove our apps?

Only the ones that don't earn their place: apps that overlap, sit unused or left code behind. Where a feature can run as native Shopify or theme code, we rebuild it there and measure the result.
